About Me

   Posted by: Janahan Balasingham   in

My name is Janahan Balsingham. I was born in a small town called Alavatti up north in my country Srilanka. Spent my early childhood there. Grew up in Colombo which is the city of our country and now I am trying to live my adult life in London, United Kingdom.

I have had an interesting life. I guess I can say that my life has not been a straight path or a planned life. At the age of 25, I have experienced quite a few high and low points in life. I have lived different kind of lifestyles and I’m thankful for the experience I have had as they have taught me the lesson I need to live on the rest of my life. I have lived as a rich spoiled kid, emotionally scarred kid, poor struggling teenager, betrayed friend, partying animal, potential graduate, and adult with a planned future to now struggling to know how to move forward in the future.

Few lessons I have learned in the short period of my life.

  • Relationships are not limited by families. Non-relative will feel more as a family than your own.
  • True Friendship is hard to find. If you find such friendship, don’t let go at any cost because they are the only ones who will stand by you no matter what.
  • A person shows their true colours when money comes into play.
  • Hypocritical and judgemental people will always be around you. Ignore their opinions and only focus on those who accept you for who you are.
  • People naturally do not show their true face. Their true face is uglier than the facade they put through.
  • Don’t trust someone completely until you know they are trustworthy. A person who is hypocritical or shallow minded will not be trustworthy because they will always judge you instead of accept you.
  • Life is full of surprises. Nothing is permanent. So live it up for the moment because you might not get another chance. Don’t be afraid to take risks.

Luckily for me, throughout my up and mainly down life periods, I had some true friends who always had my back. They gave me the strength to move on and face the problems without breaking down. It is not necessarily the same friends as fate would have it; I keep losing my close friends because of distance and their life situations. But thanks to these close friends of mine, I am where I am now.

Unfortunately, there are always two sides of everything. When you have true friends, you must experience bad friends too. Friends as they called themselves when they saw you as a high class person with money and then abandon and ridicule you when you lose the money or when they find out your family problems. Not only friends but relatives too who will always come by when you are the rich society family and then never show their face when they realize you have gone low. Unfortunately the world is filled majority by such people. So life keeps making you meet such people. People who value you by your wealth, your power and your influence rather than who you are or what you are capable of.

I’m going to write true facts of my life that most of you might not know. Just want to get it off my chest. So please don’t get offended by it.
